Equilibrium Therapy Proudly Supports “For Rudi Desai – A Walk of Love, Loss, and Hope”

At Equilibrium Therapy, we believe in honouring grief, supporting healing, and standing alongside those navigating unimaginable pain. That’s why we were deeply moved to sponsor Bhranti Naik as she walked 107 miles from Leeds Children’s Hospital to Birmingham Children’s Hospital — a powerful tribute to her nephew, Rudi Desai.

In October last year, baby Rudi was born into a family full of love and hope. But after spending nearly all of his short life in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, he sadly passed away just three days later, surrounded by his parents and close family.

Bhranti’s walk wasn’t just a physical challenge — it was an emotional pilgrimage to honour Rudi’s memory, to celebrate the love he brought in his brief time with us, and to raise vital funds for the hospital that cared for him with such compassion.

Why It Matters to Us

As therapists, we understand that grief never has a timeline — especially when it comes to the loss of a child. Supporting this walk was about more than sponsorship; it was about standing for remembrance, compassion, and family. Bhranti’s strength and openness embody everything we value at Equilibrium Therapy.

Let Rudi’s Name Live On

Over 90,000 children and young people rely on the services of Birmingham Children’s Hospital each year. The funds raised in Rudi’s name will help other families facing similar heartbreak — ensuring care, dignity, and support when it’s needed most.
